On Wednesday 8 April, LATTE was fortunate to be among a select gathering of guests brought together in The Ivy Tasting Room in Sydney to celebrate the launch of Avalon’s 2016 season of river cruises (find out more about this here).

Guests enjoyed a private tasting of fine European wines and exquisite Belgian chocolates, and were led by expert sommelier Megan Sullivan as they tasted wines from various Avalon destinations. The company’s Managing Director Australasia, Stewart Williams, addressed the crowd to inform them of the new initiatives in the 2016 European programme. For the first time the brand will sail into Belgium along the Meuse River, and a further two new Suite Ships are to be launched in 2016, Avalon Passion and Avalon Imagery II, with Avalon’s Suite Ships offering 30 per cent more cabin space than the industry average.

Indeed, Avalon’s 2016 season will offer more destinations than ever before, with a choice of 48 different itineraries on the great waterways of Europe including the Rhine, Danube, Main, Moselle, Seine, Rhône and Meuse rivers.
