andBeyond has announced that its Ngala Safari Lodge in South Africa, which shares unfenced borders with the world-renowned Kruger National Park, is due to receive a comprehensive refurbishment. The US$2 million rebuild and renovation will begin on 15 January 2016 and the lodge is scheduled to reopen to guests on 15 June 2016. The lodge’s thatch suites will be enlarged to offer a more spacious room layout and floor-to-ceiling glass windows will be installed to provide more natural light. Larger bathrooms will add to the comfort, while the private verandahs will also be extended, allowing more space for private dining. The pathways to the suites will also be reconfigured to offer more privacy. The restyled pool area will feature a new swimming pool, as well as a spa and fitness sala, allowing for both relaxation and opportunities for exercise. With work planned and restricted to specific areas of the lodge, the Ngala Family Suite will remain open throughout the refurbishment period at a reduced rate of ZAR20,000 per night. The Family Suite is situated separately to the remainder of the lodge and boasts its own private view and enclosed swimming pool, effectively reducing the impact of the renovations to a minimum.
