It was a stylish top-deck barbecue on Holland America Line’s magnificent MS Noordam in Sydney’s Circular Quay on Sunday in celebration of the ship’s inaugural visit to Sydney for the upcoming summer South Pacific cruise season. The media and members of the local travel industry dined expansively on lobster, oysters, lamb and champagne while overlooking the Opera House, Sydney Harbour and bustling Circular Quay. It was then a tour of the ship’s upmarket staterooms and entertainment, dining, lounge and spa facilities and a fantastic live show at the B.B. King’s Blues Club. The company also announced the launch of its latest ship, the MS Koningsdam, in April 2016 – the largest ever constructed for HAL and capable of hosting up to 2650 passengers. Incorporating a magnificent traditional teak promenade, two swimming pools and a Culinary Arts Centre, it will be based at Fort Lauderdale in the United States.
