It was a first time experience for everyone on Outrigger’s wholesale travel agents’ famil to Konotta Maldives Resort, hosted by Andrew Gee and Maria Alaveras from the Australian Regional Sales Office. Matt Ross from Above & Beyond, Rebecca Munachen from Asia Escapes Holidays and Emily Stuart of SIA Holidays and Wendy Wu Tours joined Andrew and Maria on their first trip to the Maldives. The group stayed in overwater villas, each with its private pool, took introductory scuba lessons, sampled the treatments available at the resort’s spa and enjoyed a spectacular sunset cruise. “The overwater villas are out of this world, the crystal-clear aqua blue waters are of postcard proportions, the food great and the service outstanding. I can’t wait to return,” commented Rebecca Munachen. Matt Ross summed up the feelings of the entire group saying: “Wow! Staying at this resort felt like a dream. Can’t wait to sell it to my clients.” The private island of Konotta is located 340km to the south of Malé and is accessible via a 55-minute flight from Malé to Kaadedhdhoo Airport followed by a scenic 30-minute journey on a luxurious private speedboat.
