After a gap of three years, the highly anticipated Galle Literary Festival will be held in Sri Lanka from 9 to 14 January 2016. Boasting an exceptional line-up of Asian and international authors, the globally-recognised festival will for the first time be held over three separate destinations, beginning in Kandy from 8 to 10 January, moving to Galle for the main festival from 13 to 17 January and ending in Jaffna on 23 and 24 January 2016. The line-up for the festival includes award-winning international authors, such as Sebastian Faulks, Meera Syal, Hugh Thomson and Mona Arshi. Poetry-lovers will be catered to by 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Gregory Pardlo and New York Times Bestseller and Forward Prize winner Claudia Rankine. Kenyan conservationist and television presented Saba Douglas-Hamilton will also be making an appearance at the festival. Along with literary discussion and debates, the popular festival also incorporates garden tours, fort walks, poetry readings, wine tastings, cooking classes, gourmet dinners, concerts and late-night jazz performances. With andbeyond, guests can combine a tour of country’s the historical forts and beaches with some quality time at the literary festival.
