Whilst many Aussies were struggling to stay dry last week, Australian trade representatives were lapping up the sunshine whilst discovering the warm waters, white sands and French infused cuisine of
New Caledonia.
The Rendezvous Workshop, hosted by
New Caledonia Tourism, provided the perfect excuse to hop ‘next door’ and escape the winter blues, attracting a record crowd of over a hundred people.
Pre and post-famils coincided with the event, offering attendees the opportunity to discover local neighbourhoods and distinct offerings including the cosmopolitan capital of Noumea; pristine Isle of Pines; rugged wilderness of the North; and the untouched Loyalty Island of Mare.
All famils featured a number of eye-opening experiences into New Caledonia’s diverse cultural identity, as well as indulgent sunset cruises, accompanied by French champagne of course, and light plane joy flights over the romantic Heart of Voh.
New Caledonia Tourism’s Australian Sales and Marketing Director, Caroline Brunel, said “Rendezvous has quickly become an important occasion for the destination, though equally as significant is the opportunity for wholesalers to experience our product and beauty firsthand. These specifically designed famils provide that opportunity tenfold, now we cannot wait for next year’s event.”
