Swell Lodge has announced a calendar of new packages for 2019, designed to align with guests’ special interests and offering a discovery of Christmas Island’s remarkable natural environment.
Guest stays at Swell Lodge feature an all-inclusive itinerary with dining prepared by a French chef, all beverages, airport transfers and activities such as a boat trip out to the best snorkel spots and guided walks to the island’s natural attractions. These include Hughs Dale Waterfall, Dolly Beach, Infinity Spa Rockpool, Margaret Knoll, The Grotto, Lily and Ethel Beaches or Anderson’s Dale.
There are several special interest packages with dedicated activities, with highlights including:
- Wellness Retreat: 14–21 May, 20–27 August 2017 Guests reconnect and revitalise with a relaxed itinerary of nature-based activities from peaceful forest walks and refreshing waterfall showers in the jungle to coastal rock pool swims, yoga, meditation and massage sessions. Swell Lodge’s chef will also guide a foraging walk to discover wild island foods and prepare wonderfully healthy, fresh meals.
- Dive Package: 21–28 May, 17–24 September 2019 Christmas Island hosts some of best scuba diving in Australia, with some of the longest reef drop-offs in the world. This diving package includes four days diving and two days exploring the island with expert guides.
- Bird and Nature Week: 27 August–3 September 2019 Ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers, this week showcases some of the island’s unique and endemic bird life. Including guided tours of Christmas Island’s natural attractions, this package includes tagging, banding and tracking the most unique birds on the island with researchers and guides.
- Ocean Swimming Week: 8–15 October 2019 Start the ocean swimming season on the right foot with a week-long swimming workshop. Take an ocean swim in 28-degree, crystal-clear water with a professional certified coach offering feedback and video analysis to help swimmers improve and reach goals.
- Learn to Freedive – SSI Qualification: 15–22 October 2019 Join qualified freediving instructor Natalie Yeates, who’s been helping people improve their skills for more than a decade, as she runs an exclusive week-long workshop for Swell Lodge guests.
