Tourism Fiji will wrap up a week-long famil for 45 Australian Matai Agents today in Nadi. All participants successfully completed Tourism Fiji’s Matai Training Program. The travel agents enjoyed a special opening welcome dinner at Rhum-Ba at Denarau Marina on the first night of the trip, which was followed the next day by a full-day Matai Conference at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa where they had the chance to meet with suppliers. That evening the group relaxed at Sofitel’s Waitui Beach Club. Hosting the Matai Agents were Tourism Fiji’s Jason Sacriz, Trade Partnerships Manager; David McMahon, Qld, NSW, ACT State Manager; and Kara Nelson, Vic, SA, Tas State Manager.
Following the ‘work’ component of the Matai Famil, the troupe divided into smaller groups and explored Fiji on five set itineraries focused on luxury, the Mamanuca Islands, the Coral Coast, the Yasawa Islands and the South Coast. Those itineraries included multiple hotel and resort visits, including the following partners:Luxury – Tokoriki Island Resort, VOMO, Six Senses, Pullman Nadi Mamanuca Islands – Matamanoa, Castaway, Malolo Island, Plantation Island Resort Coral Coast – Double Tree by Hilton, Hideaway, Marriott Momi Bay, Outrigger Yasawa Islands – Beachcomber, Viwa Island Resort, Mantaray Island, Navutu Stars, South Coast – Warwick, The Pearl, Nanuku Auberge Resort, Royal Davui, Ramada Suites Wailoaloa On the trips, the Matai specialists also had the opportunity to experience attractions and sightseeing offered at various locations, such as Malamala Beach Club, Tivua Island by Captain Cook Cruises, Rivers Fiji, Sigatoka River Safari and Essence of Fiji.
