Hapag-Lloyd Cruises pauses global operations

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has cited changing entry requirements at cruise ports around the world and flight restrictions due to the coronavirus outbreak for the temporary suspension of all cruises until 28 April 2020. “The current developments pose great challenges for all of us around the world, because the situation is changing very dynamically. The health, safety and well-being of our guests and crew is our top priority,” the luxury cruise line said. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises still in operation will be completed by 21 March and are currently estimated to resume no sooner than late April/mid-May. The following schedule has been forecast for service resumption: MS EUROPA: 28 April 28, 2020 from New York (EUR2007) MS EUROPA 2: 30 April, 2020 from Lisbon (EUX2010) MS BREMEN: 23 May, 2020 from Otaru (BRE2008) HANSEATIC nature: 19 May, 2020 from Sao Miguel (NAT2009) HANSEATIC inspiration: 28 April, 2020 from Belem (INS2008) “We very much regret this development and the inconveniences caused to our guests due to the external circumstances, which, as you appreciate, are out of our control,” Hapag-Lloyd Cruises said. The German cruise company added that in light of changing health and safety regulations, it may require adjusting its plans and measures, resulting in additional schedule changes.
