Qatar Airways has extended its newest route to Australia – Doha to Brisbane – until late October 2020. The oneworld member carrier launched flights to Brisbane in late May 2020, initially until 30 June 2020, utilising dual-class Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on the service. The jet is configured with 46 Qsuite business class seats and 281 seats in economy. While Australians are currently banned from travelling internationally, Qatar Airways says the purpose of the Queensland service is to continue bringing more travellers home, supporting those who need to travel for essential reasons and provide a critical cargo channel for Australian businesses and producers.
Currently operating three times weekly, flight QR912 departs Doha on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 23:55, touching down in Brisbane at 20:45+1. The return service – flight QR913 – pushes back from BNE at 22:15 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving into DOH at 06:10am+1. Effective 30 September through to 23 October, QR912 will be retimed to depart DOH at 20:25 and landing in the Queensland capital at 17:15+1. Similarly, QR913 will be scheduled to depart BNE at the slightly earlier time of 21:30, arriving back in Doha at 05:25+1. Lead image: Brisbane skyline – Photo credit: Jesse Smith
