CLIA Australasia welcomes Paul Gauguin Cruises

Tahiti-based small ship operator Paul Gauguin Cruises has partnered with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) to support its presence in Australia and New Zealand, joining the industry organisation as a Regional Cruise Line, Australasia. The partnership brings Paul Gauguin Cruises into CLIA Australasia’s wider community of cruise lines, travel agents and executive partners, joining its parent line Ponant which acquired the South Pacific operator last year. CLIA Australasia Managing Director Joel Katz said the addition of Paul Gauguin Cruises as a regional member was a sign of long-term confidence and resilience in the cruise industry. “Across the globe, cruise lines are united around the task of implementing extensive new measures to uphold health and safety in response to COVID-19,” Katz said. “Paul Gauguin Cruises joins CLIA at a time when our role has never been more important, and we are delighted to have their expertise and support as we lay new foundations for cruising’s future.” Paul Gauguin Cruises General Manager Sales & Marketing Asia Pacific, Deb Corbett, said the line looked forward to the substantial benefits that CLIA offers to industry members.

Paul Gauguin Cruises operates the award-winning luxury cruise ship m/s Le Paul Gauguin, offering itineraries from Tahiti to other islands of French Polynesia and across the South Pacific. Designed specifically for island itineraries, the small-scale ship carries up to 332 guests and is able to visit intimate ports that are inaccessible to larger vessels. M/S Paul Gauguin was slated for an extensive renovation in May, however, that project has been postponed due to COVID.
