Silversea Cruises will recommence sailings to Alaska and Iceland from next month, with sailings aboard Silver Muse and Silver Shadow respectively. The destinations join Silversea’s already announced restart in Greece from 18 June aboard Silver Moon and the Galapagos Islands from 19 June on the brand-new Silver Origin. Silver Muse will resume roundtrip cruises from Seattle to Alaska from 29 July 2021, bypassing stops in Canada under the US Alaska Tourism Restoration Act. For its Alaska program, Silver Muse will follow a varied series of 10- and 11-day itineraries, exploring locations such as Sawyer Glacier and the Mendenhall Glacier, and other remarkable landscapes, wildlife, and remote communities, including Ketchikan, Juneau, Wrangell, Skagway, and Sitka.

Also in the Northern Hemisphere, Silver Shadow will circumnavigate Iceland with the launch of new all-Icelandic itineraries, returning to Northern Europe, with three 10-day voyages from Reykjavik, beginning 30 July. Silversea’s revised collection of Icelandic sailings following the pandemic is comprised of three round-trip voyages from Reykjavik, and include calls in Grundarfjordur, Isafjordur, Siglufjordur, Akureyri, Husavik, Seydisfjordur, and the island of Heimaey.
“We proudly continue to lead the ultra-luxury cruise industry’s healthy return to service and commend the leadership of Alaska and Iceland for taking steps to advance the safe resumption of global travel,” said Roberto Martinoli, Silversea’s President and CEO. “The return to service is fast gaining momentum, and we’ve seen exceptional demand for travel in Alaska and Iceland. We’re eager to welcome back our guests to unlock unforgettable experiences aboard Silver Muse and Silver Shadow while contributing to the local economies of the incredible communities we visit.” Lead image: North Sawyer Glacier, Alaska | Credit: Regina Shanklin from Pixabay
