Marriott International’s W Hotels is now accepting reservations for its maiden Italian property, W Rome, beginning early December 2021, LATTE can reveal. The property had previously flagged a mid-November debut but has now pushed out the launch until 7 December, with reservations now being accepted online – priced from €412 for a Fabulous guest room including breakfast for two. The 162 room and suite hotel will open on Via Liguria, a short distance from the Roman landmark Villa Borghese Gardens, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain. W Rome spans two adjacent 19th-century buildings in the energetic Via Veneto neighbourhood, known for its fashion, thriving dining scene, chic cafés and late-night haunts. Originally intended for residential use, the buildings previously operated as a hotel, as well as offices for government ministries and private companies. The structures have been meticulously renovated and re-imagined to refresh the historic elements.
