Silversea continues to slowly peel back details of its new Otium spa and wellness experiences, initially to be offered aboard the ultra-luxury cruise line’s next new ship, Silver Dawn. As revealed first by LATTE in July, Silversea’s Otium will comprise “a plethora of moments… offer comfort and pleasure in spa, suite and ship”. The suite element, to debut on Silver Dawn in the first half of 2022, has now been revealed and will encompass four focal points – bathing, balcony, culinary and sleep.

“In Otium, we believe that wellness and relaxation do not end in the spa, so we have extended our unique concept to permeate to all suites,” Silversea told its database last week. “Four tailor made in-suite experiences offer luxurious relaxation possibilities that are the embodiment of leisure and pleasure. Otium is far more than your average spa offering.” Silversea describes the elements as:
  • The Otium Bathing Experience will offer “Perfect temperature bath water, comfortable back and neck pillows and bespoke bath salts from the Otium menu are just the beginning. Add candles, low level lighting, a delicious selection of delicacies to pamper the taste buds and the Otium music menu and we think you’ll agree that we have designed a superlative experience to soothe both body and mind.”
  • The Otium Balcony Experience consists of three moments that “promise deep immersion in your destination”, two of which are weather dependant. “Under the Sun” is an enhanced “sun-bathing session that will pamper and protect in equimeasure”, while “Baby it’s cold outside” will provide “extra-warmth during cold evenings and chilly climates” (namely cashmere blankets and what Silversea is calling, “the first hot chocolate menu at sea”. The third moment is the personalisation of food and snacks on the balcony, by the guests’ butler.
  • The Otium Comfort Food Experience is ultimately very ritzy room service – the favourite dishes offered from Silver Moon‘s restaurants, delivered to the guests’ suite. Dubbed “Food and Chill”, the concept is “ideal for those who want to stay in to dine out,” Silversea says. Plus, there’s a “Movie experience” for guests dining in-suite which will offer “luxury popcorn and nibbles” as an “indulgent snack as you enjoy your in-suite movie menu”.
  • and, The Otium Sleeping Experience, which as foreshadowed by LATTE previously, includes a sleeping scent and pillow menu, plus 400 thread-count Egyptian cotton linens crafted for Silversea by Rivolta Carmgnani, “designed exclusively for the ultimate sleeping experience at sea”.
