SunStone Maritime Group has accepted delivery of its sixth Infinity class ship from China Merchants Heavy Industry, Ocean Albatros, which will be chartered year-round to Albatros Expeditions. Featuring the distinctive Ulstein X-Bow hull, Ocean Albatros features 94 staterooms and has a capacity of 169 guests. The vessel is now repositioning to join the Albatros Expeditions fleet where it will join sister-ship, Ocean Victory.

Ocean Albatros is an Ice Class 1A, Polar Code 6 ship that has been developed with Safe Return to Port, Dynamic Positioning and Zero Speed Stabilisers. There are six Infinity Class ships that have been delivered to SunStone so far, including the original – Greg Mortimer operated by Aurora Expeditions, Ocean Explorer (Vantage Cruise Line), Ocean Victory, Sylvia Earle (Aurora Expeditions), Ocean Odyssey (Vantage Cruise Line) and now, Ocean Albatros. The seventh and final Infinity Class vessel, suspected to be a third vessel for Aurora Expeditions, will be delivered in 2025. Ocean Albatros has been flagged to enter operation in May 2023. However, the first available sailing for the new expedition ship listed online is an 8-day Arctic sailing on 15 June 2023 to Norway and Svalbard.
