Accor’s MGallery has a new addition to its French stable of properties with the doors now open for Domaine Reine Margot Paris Issy – MGallery Collection.
Located at the doorstep of Paris, a few kilometres from the heart of the capital, Domaine Reine Margot Paris Issy – MGallery Collection is set within a building dating from the 17th century and has been redesigned by Compagnie des Prêtres de Saint-Sulpice, the Wilmotte & Associés Architectes agency and the Accor group.
The 83 rooms and suites of the estate, whose sizes vary between 27 and 55 m², take on a refined, softened, deliberately monastic appearance. No trinkets, therefore, but tailor-made: lighting fixtures with ecclesiastical lines, contemporary dressing tables and small round tables. The keys on the top floor enjoy balconies with views of Paris, while those on the ground floor are immersed in the natural environment of the estate.
The historic residence houses around ten superior rooms and suites, extended by an old Chapel which was the subject of a restoration by the architect of Historic Monuments, Bénédicte Gécèle. The period building is now complemented by a second building, contemporary this time, with four levels: “Sulpice”. Thus, the old stained glass windows respond to the new facade, with vertical symmetries.
A garden suspended in time
Dated from the 17th century, it follows the historical routes and has been reproduced identically. On one hectare, there are no less than 5,000 m² of plantations, 1,000 m² of grassy pavements, around a hundred trees and more than 200 fruit tree.
A renewed decor
The entrance to the Domaine de la Reine Margot is through the lobby, designed as a real living space. This is where a library has been set up, stocked with a selection of works on the history of France, botany, gardens, ornithology and cooking, as well as a shop offering the customer something to prepare their stay smoothly.
A call to relaxation
Located facing the garden, Le Refuge de Margot is a 360 m² relaxation space. A place of ultimate well-being, it offers treatments based around vegetation in 3 cabins — we (re)discover the expertise of Anne Semonin (a French beauty brand with natural active ingredients) and Le Rouge massage oils French. A connected fitness room, bathed in natural light, a heated pool, a hammam and a sauna complete the spa offer.
An awakening of the senses
The Marguerite bar lives to the rhythm of the day. In the afternoon, it serves as a herbal tea room and juice bar, before transforming at nightfall into a botanically inspired cocktail bar. For a special moment, head to the rum bar. Unique in the world, it was installed in the historic monument in neo-Gothic style, in the heart of the deconsecrated chapel. Only ten seats, for a privileged tasting – under the gaze of the 74 statues of disciples, preserved in the same way as the restored stained glass windows.
