Updated plans have been released for the Riads being developed at Sir Richard Branson’s Moroccan retreat, Kasbah Tamadot. As previously flagged by LATTE, six new two-bedroom Riads were being added to inventory at the Virgin Hotels Collection property, which is nestled in the Atlas Mountains. Now scheduled to launch on 1 July 2024 (rather than September 2024 as originally earmarked), the new Riads have been increased to three-bedrooms, and will welcome guests ahead of the wider property which has been offline following a period of partial closure and restoration due to the earthquake that struck the region last year. The wider property is now expected to reopen on 15 October 2024.

Updated plans now offer a glimpse of the vast three-bedroom riads, including the additional bedroom and which can accommodate up to 10 people. Each room has a private bathroom, living room and terrace. The latest addition, the Rooftop Suite, consists of two interconnected tents and a jacuzzi on the spacious roof terrace.
Each Riad will have a private swimming pool, with all the comfort and Berber hospitality of the main hotel at guests’ fingertips. Individually decorated in a traditional Moroccan style, the interiors will feature furniture handcrafted by artisans from the Berber community supported by the Eve Branson Foundation, Kasbah Tamadot’s charity. The Riad’s rooms and suites can be booked individually or collectively, reserving an entire Riad for exclusive use. They will be an asset for families or groups looking for privacy, with all the advantages of a stay in one of the most authentic hotels in Morocco, with a 100% Moroccan team.
A brand new restaurant, Asayss, will also open in July. It will serve Moroccan and international cuisine to hotel guests and visitors to the region, featuring the freshest ingredients and local produce, much of it sourced from the hotel’s extensive vegetable garden. The restoration of the main Kasbah is well underway following last September’s earthquake which sadly affected the hotel and much of the surrounding communities. The hotel team and Berber communities have shown incredible resilience and united to support relief efforts alongside the Eve Branson Foundation, raising a staggering £1 million through its emergency aid fund for earthquake victims.
The stunning riads will add a new type of room to the impressive accommodation at Kasbah Tamadot, renowned for its luxurious Berber tents. The main infinity pool remains one of the hotel’s most notable features and guests can enjoy spa treatments, including a traditional Hamman, as well as authentic Moroccan cooking classes and guided hiking and cycling tours in the Atlas Mountains. Discover a three-bedroom Riad from 1 July 2024, from 45,100 dirhams in B&B, and the hotel, from 15 October, from 7,200 dirhams for two people in B&B. See virginlimitededition.com/kasbahtamadot
