Antarctica Flights is gearing up for another extraordinary season of exploration over the vast white expanse of Antarctica. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, Antarctica Flights offer travellers a remarkable bucket list opportunity to discover the southernmost continent in a single day, without the need for a passport.
Launching this November, Antarctica Flights promises an unparalleled sightseeing experience aboard the privately chartered Qantas 787 Dreamliner. This exclusive journey takes passengers on a scenic flight across the Southern Ocean to witness the breathtaking Antarctic landscape.
From vast mountains to expansive glaciers and pristine coastlines, each flight plan maximises viewing potential from both sides of the aircraft. Thanks to windows 65% larger than any other vessel of its size, each journey promises an unparalleled experience even in challenging weather conditions and offers up to four hours of scenic views over the vast white continent. With 19 meticulously planned routes, no two flights are alike, ensuring each expedition is a distinct adventure.
“Our flights are more than just a journey, they’re an immersive, once-in-a-lifetime Antarctic experience,” said Bas Bosschieter, CEO of Antarctica Flights. “Antarctica Flights make the bucket list dream of seeing the Great White Continent completely accessible; we offer a unique perspective from the air that allows passengers to appreciate how vast Antarctica is.”
This season, Antarctica Flights will operate a series of eight flights from November 2024 to February 2025, departing from major Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
For those seeking an unforgettable New Year’s celebration, two special flights departing from Melbourne on 31 December 2024 offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to welcome the new year in broad daylight over Antarctica. This special Melbourne departure also marks the locally founded company’s official 30th anniversary following the first flight departing from Melbourne on New Years Eve on 1994.
With 30 years of experience, Antarctica Flights ensures that each journey is tailored to showcase the best of Antarctica’s ever-changing landscapes. The flights, which range from 12 to 14 hours in duration, offer seating options from Business to Explorer Economy, accommodating approximately 220 passengers per flight.
