Delta Air Lines has this week begun welcoming guests to its new premium lounge experience at the all new Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport. The highly-anticipated addition at LAX joins Delta’s first debut Delta One Lounge which only opened a few months ago at New York’s JFK Airport. In LAX, adjacent to the jaw-dropping Delta Sky Club at Terminal 3, Delta’s second Delta One Lounge – with capacity for nearly 200 guests – is directly connected to the Delta One check-in for a completely private, high-touch ground experience.

The facility is also accessible from Delta Sky Club, and a secondary entry will open from the terminal, opposite the Food Court and near Gate 31B of Terminal 3, and accessed via a lift.
“From JFK to LAX, the opening of this lounge allows us to offer our customers a premium experience from coast to coast,” said Claude Roussel, Vice President – Delta Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience. “With a menu designed for our most discerning guests and the dedicated, individualised hospitality curated exclusively for our Delta One Lounges, our teams continue to raise the bar on service and elevate what an airport lounge can be.”
Inspired by both the natural and manmade beauty of Los Angeles, the lounge colour palette evokes the landscape of Southern California. Sunset hues, complemented by leather and walnut accents, colour the Icon Bar. The airiness of the coast is reflected in the Verde Emerald quartzite and onyx back bar, Delta said. The landscaped terrace, featuring seating for 26, includes accent pillows furnished by Delta One luxury brand partner Missoni. Vases, pillows and coffee table books in the library lounge area also bear the signature mark of the iconic Italian fashion house. Lounge artwork, including artists from the United States, Philippines, South Africa, Haiti, Japan and more, represents the global reach of this coastal hub.
Delta’s signature hospitality plays the starring role in the LAX lounge. Guests can enjoy service-led dining from every seat—and with a regularly rotated menu featuring elevated dishes like crispy duck tacos, pan-roasted salmon and roasted corn pizza, returning guests can look forward to discovering new favorites. Also, a year-round sushi bar – an LAX exclusive – is available for guests who prefer their meal on a roll. Globally minded foodies, let your journey guide your palate with a rotating selection of location-themed Bento boxes, featuring items from Paris, Tokyo, and Boston – all LAX Delta One destinations. Those who prefer to sip their way around the world can sample LAX Delta One Lounge “Destination Libations,” with signature cocktails represented by airport codes. Try a Mai Tai-inspired cocktail representing Tahiti (PPT), or a gin-forward mix that nods to London (LHR).
The Delta One Lounge features a retreat within a retreat with a wellness room offering eight private relaxation pods equipped with zero-gravity and full-body massage chairs. Specialty lamp lighting in the wellness area mimics the light colours affecting the body’s circadian rhythms, helping your body get acclimated to the time zone to which you will be flying. A regularly refreshed menu of wellness-themed drinks is available to nourish and revive you for your journey, as is a rolling wellness cart featuring spa water, refreshing towels and product samples from Grown Alchemist.
Meanwhile, Delta’s CEO Ed Bastian, has forecast the airline’s December quarter is on track to be one of the “most profitable four quarters in our history”. “With an improving industry backdrop and strong demand for travel on Delta, we are positioned to finish the year strong. We expect our December quarter pre-tax profit to grow 30 percent over last year to $1.4 billion,” Bastian said. Delta Air Line’s pre-tax income for the September quarter was US$1.6 billion with a pre-tax martin 10%, based on operating revenue of $15.7 billion. “In recognition of the outstanding efforts of our employees this year, we have accrued almost $1 billion of profit sharing towards the upcoming February payout,” Bastian said.
