Luxury wellness destination Ananda in the Himalayas has revamped its accommodation offering ahead of its 25th anniversary next year. The retreat, which is located on 100 acres of grounds and gardens in the Himalayan foothills, now offers 64 rooms, three villas and eight suites. Delhi-based designer Deepa Sama led the six-month project with the aim of elevating the guest experience by bringing the property’s natural beauty to the fore and blending indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Among the changes is the introduction of a brand-new room category, named the deluxe suites. The two suites overlook either the Rishikesh valley or the Maharaja’s gardens and offer a private balcony where guests can unwind in the natural surroundings. Meanwhile, a new Garden Suite with secluded garden has an outdoor deck. The redesign project also included refurbishments to the property’s Ananda Suite and Viceregal Suite. “At Ananda, we are deeply committed to a design philosophy that harmonizes each space with the natural beauty of our surroundings, creating an immersive experience that brings guests closer to a sense of inner peace and renewal,” Ananda in the Himalayas Director Aashica Khanna said.

“These enhancements reflect our dedication to providing not just a stay, but a sanctuary for the soul in the heart of the Himalayas.” Ananda completed an extensive property-wide renovation in June 2022 with the culmination of a three-year redesign project focusing on the renovation of the villas, restaurant, and spa. Since then, the property has added a new culinary show kitchen along with launching several new wellness programs.
