When the Mondrian Gold Coast opens in 2025, it will “reignite” the region’s lifestyle hospitality scene, according to the Ennismore-owned hospitality firm.
Announced back in 2020, the Burleigh Heads property represents Mondrian’s Australian debut.
“Australia has long been a strategic focus for Mondrian’s growth, and the Gold Coast was a focal point thanks to its phenomenal natural setting, rich cultural landscape, and vibrant social scene,” Brand COO Mondrian Hotels & Residences Chadi Farhat said.
“Over the last couple of years, we have seen a rising demand for lifestyle brands, where locals and international guests are looking for authentic, creative and immersive experiences – all the hallmarks of the Mondrian brand. It felt a natural choice to bring Mondrian to the Gold Coast and we believe it will resonate strongly with the local market and lend something entirely new to the hospitality space.”
The new property will incorporate 2208 suites, studios and homes. Conceived by Studio Carter, its design is inspired by the white sands and pandanus plants of the famous stretch of coastline, with Mondrian predicting its distinct vibe will put “antipodean style” on the world’s radar.
Since the opening of Mondrian’s first hotel in LA in 1996, the lifestyle brand has expanded its portfolio of properties to 11.
