An early look at the interiors of the world’s largest sailing yacht, Accor‘s Orient Express Corinthian, has revealed décor inspired by the golden age of travel.
“All the suites and the entire design of the yacht have been conceived as unique spaces that break the boundaries of Orient Express’s classic decorative grammar while remaining true to its very particular codes,” Orient Express Artistic Director Maxime d’Angeac explained.
“A contemporary vision of Orient Express, that of an era in which high quality is synonymous with excellence and calls for a real aesthetic revolution.”
When it sets sail in June 2026, the first of two Orient Express yachts, it will span 220 metres with 4,500 square metres of sails mounted on three inclinable masts. Propelled solely by the wind, it will be able to reach a speed of 17 knots.
Corinthian will house 54 suites measuring between 45 square metres and 230 square metres, each one designed to offer “total intimacy and utmost comfort”.
It will offer guests five restaurants, eight bars and a 115-seat cabaret as well as a recording studio, a cinema and a spa. Designed by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the ship will sail the Caribbean, the Adriatic and the Mediterranean. “With Orient Express Corinthian, the Orient Express legend is now preparing to sail the world’s finest seas offering an unprecedented experience of travel and adventure,” Accor CEO Sebastien Bazin said. “Drawing inspiration from the golden age of luxury cruises, the yacht reinvents movement and comfort on the water and is designed to meet the sustainability challenges of the future. It’s a great source of pride for all of us.”
