Mandarin Oriental has taken full ownership of its branded collection of premium private vacation homes and mansions, originally launched after the pandemic as a collaboration with luxury vacation rental membership platform, StayOne.
As part of the shift, the Mandarin Oriental will operate the collection independently, rebranding from Mandarin Oriental Exclusive Homes to Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes.
Launched as a limited collection of eight properties in 2022, the portfolio now stands at 25 across Europe, Asia and the US. Earlier this month it expanded into North America for the first time with the addition of two properties in Los Angeles’ prestigious Bel Air neighbourhood.
The group revealed plans to further expand the portfolio as it seeks to dominate the luxury villa market.
Luxury leisure destinations will be the main focus of this growth with the group confirming it is eyeing European summer hotspots, winter retreats in the Alps along with summer and winter destinations in North America.
The concept enables the Group to tap into a broader client base, including guests seeking multi-generational stays, family celebrations, and discerning travellers requiring privacy and exclusivity, according to Mandarin Oriental Group Chief Executive Laurent Kleitman.
“Since launch, these exquisite private homes have become a natural extension to the Mandarin Oriental brand, providing us with an opportunity to enter new destinations and introduce unique experiences to our fans around the world,” he said.
“Each hand-picked luxurious home fits naturally into our portfolio and in many cases, their locations provide opportunities for our guests to combine a hotel stay with a villa experience and explore more of the destination in different ways – all with the assurance of Mandarin Oriental’s award-winning brand.
