Triple Michelin-starred chef Emmanuel Renaut will create all the starters and main dishes on Air France’s new menu for its La Première passengers for the first time under a renewed partnership deal. Renaut, also awarded the prestigious title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, aims to share his passion for seasonal produce and his love of Savoyard cuisine with the airline’s first class customers. “Nature is a source of inspiration as infinite as it is fragile,” he said. “My cuisine tells a story, one of simplicity, gourmet indulgence and comfort. This is what I wanted to share with Air France’s La Première customers.”

Among the five new starters he has created are Beaufort PDO soufflé, cream of mushroom with truffles, and foie gras with salsify, blueberry and onion chutney. There are also eight new dishes that include polenta with wild mushrooms, spinach and mountain cheese. Meanwhile, in another first, desserts are being entrusted to Claire Heitzler, Gault & Millau’s elected pastry chef of the year 2013. “For Air France, I created a selection of pastries combining gourmet delicacies, flavours and products from our French regions. A gourmet interlude for the company’s passengers to enjoy,” she said. Her seven signature desserts will be gradually rolled out on the La Première menu, with a triple chocolate cloud, a dessert of crunchy chocolate shortbread and creamy dark chocolate, and the Castanéa, a dessert with Ardèche chestnuts and Corsican clementines, particular highlights. This northern hemisphere winter, the La Première cabin is available on flights from Paris-Charls de Gaulle to Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Los Angeles, Miami, New York-JFK, San Francisco, Washington-DC (USA), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Singapore and Tokyo-Haneda (Japan). Air France has also unveiled new amenity kits for long-haul passengers in its La Première, Business, or Premium cabins. The La Première leather gift box comes in the airline’s two signature colours, red and pearl grey, and contains five products from phyto-cosmetology company Sisley. These include a restorative hand cream, an eye contour balm, a moisturising serum and an anti-ageing day cream. It also contains a La Première pen, a wooden comb, earplugs and a night mask. The Business Class version comes in navy blue and white and is made from more than 90% recycled materials. It contains a pair of earplugs, a night mask, a bamboo toothbrush organic French, two Clarins beauty products, a kraft pen and a pair of socks.
