As part of a new initiative, river cruise line AmaWaterways is providing complimentary pre- and post-cruise land packages on select European sailings to help its guests a deeper connection with the destinations they visit. Available on more than 20 land packages across over 69 itineraries covering more than 230 departure dates in 2025, this offer will expand to 460 departures in 2026. AmaWaterways said the initiative is part of its commitment to offer “more than just a cruise experience” by allowing travellers to explore iconic cities and regions in depth. “Whether travellers choose to extend their journey before or after their river cruise, they will stay at a world-class four- or five-star hotel in the heart of the city, enabling them to explore locally during tours as well as shop and dine during their own leisure time,” the river cruise line said. The packages include two-, three-, or four-night stays in luxurious four- and five-star hotels, with city tours, excursions, and daily breakfast included. Destinations featured in the offer include the Brittany region of France, Lisbon in Portugal, Prague, and Amsterdam, offering a mix of iconic sites and hidden gems. For example, in Lisbon, guests kick off their three-day pre-cruise with a tour of the ‘City of Seven Hills,’ followed by tastings of typical Portuguese pastry. In addition to the complimentary land packages, guests can combine the offer with other savings and benefits, such as loyalty savings, referral savings, and future cruise benefits.
