With digital photos so often left unshared, Cunard is urging guests to preserve their cruise memories by contributing their holiday snaps to a new exhibition to mark its 185th anniversary.
To debut at Liverpool’s Liver Building in May, the Sea of Glamour exhibition is being curated by renowned British photographer Mary McCartney. It will then travel globally aboard Cunard ships.
“We’re inviting our guests, employees, and celebrities to share their unforgettable moments from aboard our ships,” Cunard President Katie McAlister said.

“By sharing your experiences, you’ll help Mary McCartney create something truly unique—an exhibition that brings Cunard’s incredible history to life for everyone to enjoy.”The initiative comes as research showed that 265 billion images are taken each year in the US and UK alone, but frequently remain locked away in digital devices. Only 3% of people put their images in printed albums. This digital reliance means that 72% of adults are worried that future generations’ memories might be lost without physical photos. Its efforts to tackle this issue will also see Cunard feature iconic images from its archives, highlighting its own rich history. Among the images are photos of Hollywood icons, musicians, politicians and royalty.
