Marriott International luxury pipeline surges in 2024

In 2024, the hospitality giant achieved significant milestones in both its development and portfolio, signing 109 deals and adding 21,439 rooms to the region’s development pipeline. That pipeline now stands at 77,532 rooms across 363 properties – a 12% increase year-over-year, with India, Japan, and Indonesia accounting for 72% of the signings.

“We continue to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers, APEC remains a pivotal region in our company’s growth strategy, reinforcing our position as a leader in the global hospitality industry,” Marriott International President APEC Rajeev Menon said.

This expansion highlights Marriott’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio, including new ventures in both the midscale and luxury segments.

Marriott’s luxury business flourished over the course of the year, with 19% of signed deals in 2024 coming from its high-end brands. More than 20 agreements were signed representing 4,600 rooms in the region across the company’s six luxury brands – among them EDITION hotels in Jakarta and Mumbai, and Ritz-Carlton properties in Jaipur and Udaipur, India.

“As Marriott continues to expand across APEC, we aim to broaden our portfolio and offer unforgettable experiences for today’s travellers,” Chief Development APEC Shawn Hill said.

Other 2024 milestones included the company’s 600th APEC property, the Adelaide Marriott Hotel in Australia, and its 150th property milestone in India with the Katra Marriott Resort & Spa, the 50th property in Malaysia with the Penang Marriott Complex, and the 100th property in Japan with the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1605829606612{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1605829610747{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”]
