Katy Perry, Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez were among the all-female passengers of Blue Origin‘s 31st mission and 11th human spaceflight, taking the total number of people the company has flown to space to 58. The celebrity passengers were aboard the flight as part of the New Shepard program, marking another milestone with an all-women astronaut crew. The NS-31 mission carried six high-profile passengers in total with the others including: Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyễn and Kerianne Flynn. All passengers played a “pivotal role” in bringing the mission together, according to New Shephard. “What a privilege to witness this crew of trailblazers depart the capsule today,” said Phil Joyce, Senior Vice President, New Shepard. “Each of these women is a storyteller who will use their voices—individually and together—to channel their life-changing experience today into creating lasting impact that will inspire people across our planet for generations. “Thank you to this remarkable crew for uplifting so many on their historic journey toward the stars and back.” The NS-31 flight not only advanced Blue Origin’s goals in commercial space travel but also highlighted the transformative power of representation in space exploration. With this latest launch, New Shepard has now flown 58 people to space, including four who have made the journey twice.
