Passengers aboard Sylvia Earle are experiencing a new style of travel with Aurora, exploring the Mediterranean through curated itineraries. Highlights include the medinas of Marrakech, the historic streets of Rome, and the whitewashed hill towns of Andalusia—tailored for curious travellers seeking deeper, more meaningful experiences. “This season shows there’s demand for small-group travel that goes beyond the usual routes,” said Michael Heath, CEO of Aurora Expeditions.
“We’re bringing our expedition style to new places and giving people a deeper way to explore.”
Following this early success, the company is set to significantly expand its small ship program in 2026. The Douglas Mawson operates 18 voyages across the Mediterranean, while Greg Mortimer will offer five additional sailings in Europe and three in Oceania. Aurora’s 2026 program will also include small-ship voyages along the Rhine, Main, and Danube Rivers, with visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Acropolis in Athens and the Tower of Belém in Lisbon. New itineraries through Ireland and Scotland will spotlight rich local histories, legends, and heroes—continuing the brand’s reputation for experiential travel, immersive activities, and enriching programs.
