The JW Marriott brand has made its New Zealand debut with the unveiling of JW Marriott Auckland, the result of an extensive multi-million-dollar transformation of the former Stamford Plaza hotel. Located in the heart of the city, the hotel has 271 guest rooms and 15 suites. It has been designed to reflect local culture and highlight the brand’s commitment to holistic wellbeing by renowned Singaporean architecture firm O37 with Founder and Creative Director Leonard Lee at the helm. “JW Marriott embraces the belief that a connection to the natural environment is an important part of nourishing one’s soul. JW Marriott Auckland embodies the brand’s commitment to providing a haven where guests can focus on feeling whole in mind, body, and spirit,” said Jason Nuell, Area Vice President – Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International.

Dining options include lobby bar, Forum, where barista coffee and small bites from local artisan bakehouse, Wild Wheat, are available throughout the day and, by night, it transforms into a bar. Cocktails are inspired by the natural beauty of the Waitakere Ranges, with smoked woodchips infusing a distinct, earthy flavour. Signature restaurant Trivet has Head Chef Wallace Mua at its helm curating a menu that draws on the unique flavours and techniques of Polynesian cuisine.
