“This city has long been a pioneer in sustainability, environmental stewardship, and progressive thinking. With 1 Hotel Seattle, we wanted to create a haven that not only pays homage to its forests, waters, and creative spirit, but also reflects the city’s deep-rooted commitment to living in harmony with the planet.” Located just minutes from Seattle’s iconic landmarks like the Space Needle and Pike Place Market, 1 Hotel Seattle’s design is a direct tribute to the region’s rugged landscapes and rich culture. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a driftwood sculpture by local artist Alison Stigora. The lobby features a striking living wall, a sculptural staircase made from reclaimed timber, and beams crafted from Douglas fir—a nod to the city’s maritime and industrial heritage. Raul Leal, CEO of Starwood Hotels, highlighted the new hotel as a great fit for one of the country’s “most forward-thinking” cities. “From the locally crafted furnishings to the reclaimed materials and moss art installations, every detail is designed to inspire both comfort and consciousness,” he said. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability extends throughout the property. The 153 guest rooms, including 45 suites, feature organic textures, reclaimed wood walls, and energy-efficient smart thermostats. In-room amenities include filtered water stations, bamboo-based tissue, and organic linens, all underscoring 1 Hotel Seattle’s eco-friendly ethos. Guests can also participate in the hotel’s 1 Less Thing program, which encourages guests to donate gently used clothing to local nonprofit, Mary’s Place. 1 Hotel Seattle’s dining program is equally focused on sustainability and local ingredients. The signature restaurant, La Loba, helmed by James Beard Award finalist Chef Oscar Amador Edo, combines Spanish tapas with regional and international flavors. The menu emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the Pacific Northwest, with dishes like wood-fired seafood and inventive crudos. The restaurant’s wine list features a curated selection of low-intervention wines, adding a unique touch to the dining experience. For those seeking a more casual atmosphere, Drift café and bar offers craft coffee in the morning and transforms into a cocktail lounge in the evening, serving seasonal small plates and biodynamic wines.
