Heritage Line has heralded a “new chapter” of sailing the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay by charting a course into the lesser-known waters of Bai Tu Long Bay starting January 2026.
The luxury cruise operator will debut a newly curated two-night cruise program in this pristine region, which Heritage Line describes as “almost unknown” to travellers to this day.
With this fresh itinerary, the company is promising guests a return to a more authentic “back to the roots” experience.
It will be operated by small boutique ship Violet, with the vessel to no longer cruise the classic Halong Bay routes as it becomes the flagship for this new adventure in Bai Tu Long.

With only six suites, each with a private balcony, Violet will be the smallest luxury ship sailing Bai Tu Long. Tailored for “privacy seekers”, honeymooners, or small groups, it features exclusive private dining and in-suite dining options.
The first official departure is set for 2 January 2026, with bookings now open and full cruise details available by mid-July.
