Windstar Cruises last week confirmed it will commence operations from its new headquarters in Miami, effective June 2022. In October last year, the small ship cruise line said it was moving its HQ from Seattle in Washington state to Florida “by June of 2022” having signed a lease on the 5th floor in the Doral Concourse. The office is in close proximity to many other cruise companies and associated services. The confirmation of a June office opening was made concurrently with the announcement of new recruit – Cristienne (Cris) De Souza, Director of Revenue Planning – who will report to Kristin Badgett, Vice President of Revenue and Itinerary Planning, who is Miami-based.

Cris De Souza, Director of Revenue Planning, Windstar Cruises De Souza will work with Badgett to determine strategy and implement pricing for the Windstar fleet. She will collaborate closely with Windstar’s parent company, Xanterra Travel Collection, to review strategies for achieving optimal pricing on all of Windstar’s itineraries and for all onboard amenities. She also will assist with analytics and recommendations on new deployment for future Windstar sailing destinations and offerings,” Windstar Cruises said. De Souza was most recently head of business development at Advance Your Reach. Before that, she was vice president of sales and marketing at Nexion Travel Group. She was also a previous director of national account sales and marketing at Ama Waterways; and had accrued 14 years at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd, including roles as director of national accounts for Celebrity and Azamara. On the move to Miami, last year Windstar Cruises’ President, Christopher Prelog, said most new hires would be based in Florida. “Miami is the centre of the cruise industry in the US, and this new office will help us build industry relationships and attract new talent. It will also let operations employees in Miami be closer to our yachts and crew, as well as shorten our flight times to Europe and the Caribbean, where so much of our operations take place,” Prelog said.
