Former Rail Europe Australasia brain trust, James Dunne, Lachlan McCallum and Kew Muthalif, have launched a new specialist rail operator in Australia called Rail Online.
Dunne, McCallum and Muthalif, who collectively possess more than 30 years of rail know-how, rolled out Rail Online to improve and streamline rail booking processes.
Powered by a global rail technology giant, SilverRail, Rail Online says it has direct access to the most competitive rates, with all products issued as e-tickets.

With operations across Australia and the UK, Rail Online offers travel advisors a new booking platform from which they can search, compare and book European rail passes and point-to-point tickets, initially across the United Kingdom. Additional rail networks across continental Europe and North America will be added in the future. SilverRail’s software currently facilitates more than 30 million online rail bookings each year. Cameron Jones, Chief Strategy Officer at SilverRail said, “We’ve been impressed with the founding team that Rail Online has brought to the table. Our companies share a genuine passion for the sector and we look forward to working with them as they grow.”

“SilverRail has helped us create a platform that offers a seamless booking experience with competitive prices and the ability to self-manage any changes or refunds. With the rapid advancement of digital ticketing in the rail sector, it’s time for a new player and we’re it,” said Dunne.
