Luxury river cruise operator APT is celebrating news that its partner AmaWaterways has been awarded six gold awards during the 2016 Travvy Awards annual awards gala. AmaWaterways was presented with its accolades by the travAlliancemedia team during a celebration held on 6 January in New York City. Nearly 40,000 travel professionals voted for their favorite travel companies as part of the qualifying and selection process. Represented at the event by Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways received 2016 gold Travvy Awards in the following categories:
  • Best River Cruise Line
  • Best Cruise Ships, River Cruise: AmaSerena, AmaBella
  • Best River Cruise Line, Asia
  • Best River Cruise Line, Europe
In addition, AmaWaterways President and Co-Owner Rudi Schreiner was named Most Innovative Executive in the River Cruise category for the second consecutive year. Schreiner co-founded the company in 2002 with Jimmy Murphy and Kristin Karst, with APT Founder Geoff McGeary joining the partnership in 2006. Commenting on the awards APT Group Managing Director Chris Hall said, “We are thrilled for AmaWaterways. To win six awards in one night is a phenomenal achievement. Once again it shows just how outstanding the AmaWaterways and APT river cruise product is. Our ships and cruises are exemplary and the fact that they are picked as winners time and time again is testament to the dedication of the teams in Europe and Asia who work tirelessly to deliver exceptional itineraries. We congratulate Rudi Schreiner too for his personal and much deserved award.”
