Holder East, Australia’s premier residential and commercial property development firm, has announced the arrival of the first Hyatt House Hotel in Australia in partnership with Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Expected to open in 2025, Hyatt House South Melbourne is a 97-room hotel within Holder East’s Oasis Residences, a luxurious and elegant urban sanctuary designed by Hayball architects. Located minutes from the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Australian Grand Prix race track in Albert Park, ANZAC station, the Melbourne Art Precinct and Southbank, as well as the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, guests of Hyatt House South Melbourne will be able to experience the best that Melbourne has to offer. Hyatt House hotels are designed to welcome guests seeking spacious and well-equipped living accommodations with everything they need and more for short- or long-term stays. At more than 130 locations, the Hyatt House brand delivers home-like amenities, including complimentary home-cooked breakfast for guests, a creatively curated menu at H Bar, and indoor and outdoor communal areas for working, socialising, or relaxing whether it be for well-travelled professionals, active families, or self-sufficient travellers.

An exciting milestone ahead for Hyatt

Asia Pacific Hyatt Group President David Udell said this exciting milestone reflects Hyatt’s continued growth of their extended stay portfolio, enabling guests to experience their signature care in new ways. “We are proud to work with Holder East to debut the Hyatt House brand in Australia. The brand brings all the comforts of home to guests who don’t just want to stay somewhere but to live somewhere, even if only for two nights. That means more space for living and working, delivered with flexibility, comfort and thoughtful touches,” said Udell. The hotel’s guestrooms will offer a mix of den, studio and 1-bedroom suites featuring residential-inspired design and facilities, including refrigerator, stovetop and kitchen islands, with living rooms and plush beds, offering spacious and well-equipped living accommodation with all the comforts of home.

An oasis in central Melbourne

Adding value to Oasis residents, the hotel’s all-day lounge will be a central gathering spot where residents and guests can enjoy a freshly made breakfast, sip on a cocktail, and unwind in the evening. The hotel will also offer a well-equipped gym and numerous communal spaces for working, socialising or relaxing. “Hyatt House South Melbourne will be a vibrant addition to the South Melbourne precinct. The brand’s focus on offering a home away from home experience will make guests feel genuinely at home with an elevated, spacious and stylish experience,” said CJ Wu, Holder East Chief Operation Officer. The growth of the Hyatt House brand reflects its continuing evolution to meet the needs of guests who today work more remotely than ever, seeking more space, more autonomy, and amenities that reflect the comforts of home. Oasis Residences is expected to reach completion in August 2024. For more information, visit hyatthouse.com
