Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is commemorating its decade-long partnership with Reiko Sudo. A renowned textile designer, Reiko Sudo has designed the hotel’s fabrics since the opening. Now, the NUNO package offers guests the opportunity to see firsthand the artistry of Sudo’s work in the hotel and to truly experience the authentic sense of place that such work gives to the hotel in keeping with the deep history and traditions of Nihonbashi. Reiko Sudo has specially designed a one-of-a-kind silk scarf for this package. Taking the Ominaeshi motif which represents a Japanese wildflower that blooms in tiny clusters, and combining it in a patch work style with the hotel’s amethyst purple colours, the finished scarf is truly a piece of art and consistent with the work at the hotel. Sudo will also autograph a copy of the hotel’s concept book “Woods & Water.” The NUNO package includes:
  • An accommodation in Mandarin Grand for two
  • Silk Scarf originally designed by Reiko Sudo (one per room)
  • Autographed book “Woods & Water” by Reiko Sudo (one per room)
  • Breakfast for two at K’shiki or Oriental Lounge
Package prices start from JPY74,000. Available from 4 January 2016. Package rates are subject to 8% consumption tax, 15% service charge and an accommodation tax of JPY200 per person, per night.
