Rachela Virgara has been welcomed to the role of Director of Sales for Sofitel Hotels and Resorts’ flagship property in Australia, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. With a strong background in sales and events, Virgara joins Sofitel to drive and grow the business events segment across global portfolios for corporate, wholesale and airline accounts. Virgara joins the team most recently from Hyatt Regency Sydney where as Director Sales MICE, she was recognised with “Winning ‘Highest Revenue Generated’ in Australasia competing against all Hyatt properties. Her career has also included roles at cievents (20 months), Adelaide Oval (4+ years) and Hilton Worldwide (circa 7 years).

Her role with Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour will see her leading a strong sales team in the development and implementation of a strategic approach to secure market leadership in the business and corporate events sector.
