British classics are on the menu at the new Plaza Premium Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 4, as the company celebrates 10 years of operating in the United Kingdom. The new lounge is part of an expansion in the UK, following the opening of the Plaza Express lounge in May. It is the company’s sixth in the British capital and its fourth at Heathrow, with the newly developed and larger space replacing the existing facility at Terminal 4. “We’re delighted to announce the opening of the new Heathrow Terminal 4 lounge as we celebrate 10 years of Plaza Premium Group in the UK,” said Lorenzo Valori, Plaza Premium Group VP Commercial Development and Operations Europe. “This is our second opening in London this year, also marking our sixth lounge in the city. London remains one of the world’s most important aviation hubs with strong global connectivity and we are committed to further strengthening our presence here.”

The 766 square-metre lounge has floor to ceiling runway views and a capacity of 147 guests. Designed to be a quiet zone for business travellers needing to focus, the lounge incorporated subtle nods to the city of London. Spearheading the group’s new “Proudly Local” experience in the UK as the new concept is rolled out globally, the new lounge will be serving up Victoria Sponge, Cottage Pie, Pimm’s and the good old Gin & Tonic made with locally-distilled gin. Art is also taking centre-stage, with the new lounge showcasing local artists in the fourth series of its Art & Lounge exhibitions. First up is London-based award-winning British multidisciplinary contemporary artist Lauren Baker who is showing her exhibition Ascending Horizons there until the end of November.”London stands as one of the cultural capitals in the world. With the introduction of ‘Proudly Local’, we want our guests to immerse themselves in the city’s rich heritage and culture through the experience, ultimately enhancing their journey,” Valori said. The lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4 will continue to serve passengers from SkyTeam member airlines, including Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, China Eastern, Kenya Airways, Korean Air and Saudia Airlines. Additionally, passengers from Air Algérie, Air Astana, Bulgaria Air, Air Serbia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, China Southern, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Brunei, RwandAir, Tunisair, Turkmenistan Airlines and WestJet can enjoy the newly refurbished lounge. Holders of selected corporate cards, including American Express, DragonPass, LoungeKey, and Priority Pass, also have access to the lounge. Walk-in travellers are also able to experience the facility for a cover charge.
