Guests are being welcomed back to andBeyond’s Ngala Tented Camp on the banks of the Timbavati River in South Africa after a six month closure. During that time, the camp has been extensively refurbished to elevate the guest experience while retaining its “classical tented feel”. The andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park, giving guests easy access to some of the world’s finest wildlife experiences. The area is famous for its African wild dogs and white lions. “A new layout and an extended outdoor deck ensure that guest tents are even more spacious and luxurious, with the addition of secluded outdoor spaces to while away the afternoon,” andBeyond said.

Redesigned bathrooms now feature both an indoor and outdoor shower, in addition to an al fresco bathtub. Other luxe touches include the addition of discrete butler hatches, outdoor screens and redirected pathways to add greater tranquillity and privacy. The guest area has also undergone a significant transformation with expanded dining decks with reticulated awnings to make the most of its spectacular setting above the riverbed, which remains dry through much of the year. A larger camp swimming pool is also part of the revamp, as well as a new gym area. Ngala Tented Camp welcomes children over the age of twelve, making it a more romantic and private alternative to the more family-oriented Ngala Safari Lodge, situated in the north of the reserve.
