Orient Express has confirmed the appointment of Yannick Alléno (pictured), one of the most innovative and prestigious chefs on the international culinary scene, as Executive Chef of the legendary Orient Express Train. Alléno will also lead the culinary experience aboard the world’s largest sailing yacht, Orient Express Corinthian. The collaboration marks a milestone in the history of Orient Express, combining the brand’s timeless heritage with the very best of French culinary art. “Orient Express embodies travel in its noblest essence, and it is an honor to bring my vision of cuisine to this iconic universe, steeped in history. Each menu, each plate, is an invitation to discover my personal interpretation of culinary heritages from around the world, and of course from France, for an extraordinary experience aboard the legendary Orient Express,” Alléno, Executive Chef, Orient Express said.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman & CEO of Accor said the collaboration “reflects Orient Express’s ambition to surround itself with the greatest talents to create a unique experience of travel and discovery.
“By becoming the culinary soul of the train and ship, Chef Alléno brings not only his creativity and keen sense of innovation, but also a philosophy of gastronomy that he will share in different ways, so that each restaurant has its own identity.
“This modern, multi-faceted approach blends perfectly with the brand’s values of excellence, sophistication and escape.” Aboard two restaurant cars of the Orient Express Train and on the sailing yacht Orient Express Corinthian, which will house five restaurants, including La Table de l’Orient Express by Yannick Alléno, Chef Alléno offers an exceptional gastronomic experience, with exclusive menus inspired by the terroirs crossed and the unique landscapes of each journey.
Driven by an insatiable quest for creativity and innovation, his cuisine promises to sublimate every moment of the voyage, plunging passengers into a universe of unprecedented flavours, textures and aromas. Alléno’s techniques and the ingredients will allow passengers to be transported by a universe where excellence and creative audacity know no bounds. “Each dish will tell a story, echoing the spirit of travel and escape, while honouring the excellence of Orient Express, where every detail counts,” the ultra-luxury hospitality brand said. The first interior renders of Orient Express Corinthian were revealed last month, as featured in LATTE.
