Desert Rock resort is Red Sea Global’s third self-operated property, following in the footsteps of Shebara Resort on Sheybarah Island and the buy-out only private island, Thuwal Private Retreat. Designed with seamless integration into the rugged terrain, Desert Rock features a variety of accommodations, including pool villas, luxury suites, and private retreats, each offering a unique way to experience the splendour of the surrounding landscape.
Each villa and suite has been thoughtfully crafted to embrace the natural surroundings, offering an atmosphere of serene luxury. Guests can choose from a range of options, including Cliff Hanging Suites perched towering over the resort and ingeniously built Mountain Cave Suites, etched into the rock mountains and featuring cliffside plunge pools. There are also Wadi Villas best suited for families, available in one-and two-bedroom designs and featuring private pools and expansive living areas. Meanwhile the Mountain Crevice Villas seemingly defy gravity, hanging on the edge of the massif, with panoramic views and private pools that offer a one-of-a-kind perspective of the desert landscape. While the Royal Villa features all the luxury and seclusion that only a three-bedroom private villa can.
“This is more than just a hotel—it is a unique property, crafted into the rock face, offering a truly immersive experience where luxury and nature come together to create a truly unforgettable escape,” John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global said.
“Whether you are looking to explore the desert and mountains with our adventure team at Akun, unwind in total privacy, or indulge in world-class dining and wellness, Desert Rock offers something extraordinary for every guest.” Desert Rock is also home to world-class dining venues, with five options available for a unique culinary experience, including the crown jewel, Nyra, and the non-alcoholic bar, Mira.
The Desert Rock experience extends beyond accommodation and dining. The resort’s wellness offerings include five treatment rooms, a private hammam, water therapy facilities, an outdoor treatment space, a yoga pavilion, and aerial yoga sessions. Here, guests can even experience a “Moonlight Meteorite Massage”. This holistic approach to well-being complements the resort’s breath-taking surroundings, offering guests the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with nature. Located 500kms north of Jeddah, positioned between the towns of Al Wajh and Umluj, Desert Rock’s isolated location is a 20 minute drive from the relatively new Red Sea International Airport, and a further 20 minutes onto the Red Sea coast where a multitude of luxury hotels have opened and even more are under development at Shura Island and Ummahat Islands.
Reservations are now open. Nightly rates for a stay beginning as early as 20 December 2024 start at SAR 9,000 (approximately AU$3,900) for a One-Bedroom Mountain Cave Suite with cliffside plunge pool. To celebrate its grand opening, for a limited time only all bookings of two consecutive nights are being offered a third night on a complimentary basis. For guests booking 45 days ahead of their planned stay, an alternative offer of 20% discount can be applied. See desertrock.sa/en/.
