New Fiji Airways aircraft to enhance connectivity

The arrival of two new ATR aircraft has bolstered the Fiji Airways fleet, supporting the airline’s efforts to improve domestic and regional connectivity. Both of the ATR 72-600 aircraft, each with seating capacity for 68, will be deployed primarily on the airline’s regional routes, strengthening services to the north and west of Fiji.

They will fly between Nadi and Suva, on the Suva-Labasa and Nadi-Labasa routes and from Nadi to Tongatapu, Vava’u, Funafuti and Port Vila regionally.

“These two new ATR aircraft are a significant investment in Fiji’s domestic connectivity,” Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen said.

“They are an important part of our commitment to providing comfortable and efficient travel options for our passengers and offering greater connectivity between our islands.

“This fleet expansion will also help us continue to meet the growing demand for domestic travel, ensuring that we can provide increased capacity where it’s needed most.” More ATR aircraft will be introduced over time to further enhance capacity, the airline confirmed. Meanwhile, its domestic and regional subsidiary Fiji Link has unveiled new staff uniforms to better align with Fiji Airways – part of a broader push to unify branding across all divisions. “The standardisation of our uniforms across Fiji Airways and Fiji Link reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and professionalism, ensuring that our crew represents the highest standards of service, and our passengers enjoy a seamless, consistent experience,” Viljoen said.
