Nat Geo-Lindblad welcomes Charaidew II to fleet

River cruise vessel Charaidew II will join National Geographic-Lindblad’s fleet of chartered ships, with two departures in India scheduled for 2026. The 17-cabin vessel is specifically designed for navigating the Brahmaputra River, with a shallow draught and low profile that allow it to access more remote regions of the river than other ships. Both of the new itineraries will depart in March 2026. The first, an 18-day journey titled India by Land and River: Taj Mahal, Safaris and the Brahmaputra, combines the iconic landmarks of northern India with the less-explored Assam region and its wildlife reserves.

Highlights include visits to UNESCO-listed Kaziranga National Park for jeep safaris to see rare wildlife, such as the Asian one-horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal tigers, as well as experiencing the vibrant culture of Kolkata. Prices for this journey start from $20,655 per person. Meanwhile, Charaidew II will also sail a shorter 11-day itinerary, India Expedition: Kolkata, Kaziranga, and the Brahmaputra River, which will focus on eastern India. This itinerary offers river cruising along the Brahmaputra, wildlife explorations in Kaziranga National Park, and cultural experiences in Kolkata, including visits to the city’s historic sites, flower markets, and Mother Teresa’s charity centre. Prices for this tour start from $11,320 per person.
