A double occasion was celebrated at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France on Thursday this week with the keel laying of Orient Express‘ first luxury yacht OECorinthian, and the first steel cutting of its second vessel, to be known as OEOlympian.
“These innovative ships will feature the Solid Sail wind propulsion system developed by our teams and are set to be delivered in March 2026 and May 2027 respectively,” the shipyard said.
OE Corinthian is scheduled to touch water for the first time in June, after which time the Solid State sails will be installed. The first sea trials for the yacht are earmarked for the end of this year, with delivery slated for early 2026.
Orient Express is a luxury brand of Accor, with Accor just one of the hoteliers to make a move onto the open sea. Other hotel brands that have entered the ultra-luxury marine vessel segment include The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and Aman.
