Swan Hellenic introduces expert line-up for 2025 Arctic program

Swan Hellenic has unveiled the lecturers and guides set to accompany its 2025 Arctic Cultural Expedition Cruises, with bookings now open for all 40 of its 2025-2026 Arctic voyages. Luxury ice-class ships SH Vega and SH Diana will operate six distinct itineraries for 2025-2026. These include the seven-night Exploring Svalbard cruise from Longyearbyen, Norway, the 10-night Iceland to Greenland Roundtrip from Reykjavik, Iceland, the Roundtrip Cruise to the Edge of the Arctic from Tromsø, Norway, and the Cruise from Iceland to Greenland from Reykjavik to Kangerlussuaq. Additionally, there are two extended voyages focusing on the Northern Lights: the 16-night Greenland and Northern Lights Roundtrip and the 15-night Canadian Arctic and Northern Lights Cruise from Kangerlussuaq to Halifax, Canada. To enhance these once-in-a-lifetime journeys, Swan Hellenic will feature an impressive roster of world experts. “They’re all world authorities who are incredibly approachable and passionate about their fields,” Chief Commercial Officer Patrizia Iantorno said. “They’ll bring transformative depth of knowledge and personal experience to our guests’ voyages.”

The experts include:

• Uli Reyer: A biologist and former professor at the University of Zurich, Uli specializes in animal behaviour and Alpine birds. He will accompany the Exploring Svalbard cruises on 20 and 27 June 2025.

• Urs H. Fischer: A glaciologist with decades of experience in glacier dynamics, Urs will join the 9-night Cruise from Svalbard to Norway and the Roundtrip Cruise to the Edge of the Arctic on 1 and 11 July 2025.

• Aleqa Hammond: Greenland’s first female Prime Minister, Aleqa is a passionate advocate for Arctic culture and the environment. She will join the Iceland to Greenland Roundtrip Cruise on 31 July 2025.

• Arielle Montgomery: A Stanford-educated engineer and Greenland advocate, Arielle will join the Iceland to Greenland Roundtrip Cruise on August 10, 2025, and the Greenland in Depth cruise on 20 August 2025.

• Antony Jinman: A polar explorer and educator, Antony will accompany the 16-night Canadian Northwest Passage & Northern Lights cruise on 30 August 2025.

• Gabrielle Slowey: A political scientist and Fulbright Arctic Chair, Gabrielle researches Indigenous governance and Arctic policy. She will join the 16-night Canadian Northwest Passage & Northern Lights cruise on 30 August 2025, and the 15-night Canadian Arctic and Northern Lights cruise on 15 September 2025.
