The Mediterranean Journeys Collection from Explora Journeys has officially set sail, with the inaugural journey of the season departing from Barcelona aboard EXPLORA II, coinciding with the grand opening of the MSC Barcelona Cruise Terminal. From now until November 2025, immersive Mediterranean voyages will be operated by EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II, traversing both the Eastern and Western Mediterranean regions respectively. Destinations along the sun-drenched coastlines of Italy, Greece, Türkiye, France and more will include Skiathos, Portofino, St. Tropez, and Mahón. Hidden gems and lesser-explored ports will also be part of the program, with each itinerary offering a blend of cultural discovery and relaxed elegance, allowing travellers to “embrace the Ocean State of Mind”, according to the cruise line. Journeys aboard EXPLORA I include a seven-night sailing from Piraeus (Athens) to Fusina (Venice) in June, and a 14-night voyage through the Aegean, stopping in Mykonos and Istanbul. Meanwhile, EXPLORA II will sail voyages including a seven-night sailing from Barcelona to Rome calling at Ibiza and Portofino. Another key highlight of the collection is the MSC Barcelona Cruise Terminal, which officially opened on 3 April offering a seamless arrival and departure experience for Explora guests. Designed by the renowned Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, the terminal’s expansive glass facades maximise natural light and provide an open, airy ambiance.
