SLS Barcelona opening marks brand’s European debut

SLS Hotels’ first European property, SLS Barcelona, has opened its doors, welcoming guests to its prime location on Port Forums’s waterfront, just steps from the beach. The 471-room property, located 15 minutes from the city centre, features three pools, a spa, fitness centre and six dining spots. Bathrooms feature white marbled details, clean tiling and sculptural mirrors, while most rooms have balconies or terraces with sweeping views of the marina and Mediterranean Sea. “I am delighted to introduce SLS Barcelona, a destination redefining luxury and lifestyle on the Mediterranean,” Hotel Manager Ignacio Rodriguez said. “Designed for indulgence, our hotel blends world-class design, culinary excellence and vibrant energy.”

The property was originally slated to open in 2024. Back in 2022, Accor‘s Ennismore brand and ActivumSG Capital Management revealed they had signed a long-term management agreement that would bring the Sam Nazarian-founded hotel brand to Europe for the first time. The French hotel juggernaut acquired sbe’s hotel brands, which includes SLS, in 2020 and then expanded the brand into the Middle East with the launch of SLS Dubai, one of the tallest buildings in the emirate, in 2021.
