A&K Travel Group expects to take delivery of its new Peruvian Amazon riverboat in July, LATTE can confirm. Speaking exclusively with LATTE earlier this month in Melbourne, Cristina Levis, CEO of Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group noted that there had been a “little delay” to the A&K Sanctuary vessel due to recent flooding in the Amazon that extended for several weeks. “Thankfully that has not delayed the launch, with the first charter scheduled for July 2025,” she told LATTE during a one-on-one interview.

“We’ve built Pure Amazon from the ground up,” Levis said, after Abercrombie & Kent acquired the hull of the ship when investing in Ecoventura in the Galapagos several years ago. When Pure Amazon debuts it will feature 10 Adriana Granato, Studio Ibsen-designed double cabins and two single cabins. Pure Amazon will cater for a maximum of 22* guests and will operate three- or four-night itineraries between Iquitos and Nauta, or a combination of both to create a seven-night cruise. The riverboat will explore the vast Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve in northern Peru, offering amazing wildlife spotting opportunities. “The ship will be operational in July and it is beautiful. I’m still dreaming of the jungle lounge,” Levis said, referencing the mural design of that space which is all green.
A&K has tapped into local producers for “every single detail, every single material” onboard, Levis noted, including a slab of marble from the Amazon. We had the architects going back and forth from Milan to Peru. Two artists have collaborated with Dior for some elements. “Everything guests find onboard has been chosen with a lot of attention to detail,” Levis added.Operating year-round, the A&K boss added that the company was “happy” with sales to date, with the new product generating bookings from small groups, FIT clients and charter business. Charters can currently save 20% on Pure Amazon costs. *Charters can also accommodate up to 26 guests. Suite prices start;
  • US$5,745 per person sharing for the 3-night voyage
