Plans are underway for a new luxury hotel in the Hunter Valley, with HVL Hotels confident the project will enhance the wine-growing region’s reputation as a beacon of high-end hospitality. The development, in partnership with Figure 8 Capital, will be set within the historic Ben Ean Estate, Australia’s oldest vineyard. Situated on the grounds of the original Lindeman’s Estate, it will bridge the past and the future, according to HVL Hotels. “This ultra-premium destination reimagines what a five-star retreat can be,” the company said in a statement. “Inspired by the world’s most iconic five-star hotels, HVL Hotels pushes the boundaries of design, art, and immersive experiences, setting a new benchmark for Australian hospitality.” The boutique retreat will feature 65 architecturally designed suites, ranging between 49 and 58 square metres and with features including sunken lounges and panoramic vineyard views. Cultural enrichment is central to the project, with large-scale outdoor sculptures and contemporary art installations by renowned artists Gillie and Marc enhancing the landscape.

Food and wellness are also cornerstones of the HVL experience. Restaurant WHITE, a celebrity chef-led concept curated by Justin North, will serve as the heart of the property’s culinary offering. A chic cocktail bar by the pool will offer guests a dynamic day-to-night experience, transforming into a DJ-led nightlife space after dark. Wellness, too, is a priority with a European-style “rejuvenation spa” that includes a salt room, steam room, infrared sauna, finnish sauna, cold plunge pools, snow room and indoor-outdoor heated magnesium pool. Complementing the spa will be a 25-metre swimming pool, a large spa, a high-end gymnasium, and facilities designed for weddings, conferences, and outdoor events. The project will span a total area of 6,558 square metres. Behind the vision are industry leaders including Dr. John Hewson and Dominic Lambrinos, Executive Board; Brian McGuigan & Colin Peterson, Special Counsel – Winemakers; and Stephen Leathley, Hotel & Town Planner. DA approval has now been secured for the project.
